Pleasure started business in 1956 building houses
as a means to pay for college tuition for a group of students attending Emmanuel
Missionary College in Berrien Springs, Michigan. One of the homes was entered in
the local builders association "Parade of Homes". To separate their home from
all the other builders homes it was decided to build an in ground pool for
advertising effect.
The response from the public was overwhelming, not for the home, but for the
pool. Three years later Mr. Bishop began manufacturing steel panels, liners, and
other pool components. By 1965 prefab pool kits were being shipped to
independent "Pleasure
Pools" dealers in 28 states.

de-watering the pool area.
